Earlier this summer, our General Manager, Julie Prévéreault, accompanied by several Parkinson Montréal-Laval leaders, had the opportunity to take part in an adapted boxing class organised by our partner NeuroMotrix.

It was an exceptional opportunity to highlight our essential mission, which is to improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s disease.

Once again, we are more than ever grateful to our partner for its constant support and the key role it plays in extending our reach and the impact of our actions.

It’s a gentle (but very necessary) reminder that people living with Parkinson’s disease can also make tremendous efforts, and that adapted exercise doesn’t mean difficulty-free!

The benefits of regular physical activity, including boxing, for people living with Parkinson’s disease are increasingly well documented. The spirit of companionship is also clearly perceptible! Some participants have even mentioned the importance of the social aspect as a source of motivation for attending this weekly meeting, despite the difficulties encountered on certain mornings. It’s an inescapable reminder of the challenges faced by people living with Parkinson’s disease, who sometimes have to make considerable efforts to maintain a continuous exercise routine. And as we watch the group exercising under the heartfelt encouragement of their coach, we quickly realize that adapted exercise doesn’t mean easy!

Join our dynamic group and discover the pleasures of adapted physical activity!
