Do You Know? Once again this year, pedaling will help a good cause! The Bike Challenge, proposed by Parkinson Quebec, is back with its 11th edition, which takes place online from June 10 to October 13, 2021.
Participating in this challenge and becoming a Pedallian is an active commitment to the well-being of the 100,000 Quebecers affected by Parkinson’s disease – 25,000 diagnosed people and their families.
The goal? Accumulate miles together to raise $200,000 in donations for the Parkinson’s community.
An interactive format to be active and positive!
If this 11th edition takes place in virtual mode, the commitment of the participants is real. To participate, the pedallists can, at their choice :
- Set a goal and accumulate the kilometers pedaled during your personal excursions for the duration of the Bike Challenge.
- Organize an excursion and pedal according to the challenge previously set.
- Organize a team excursion on a specific day.
- Accumulate kilometers by exercise bike or pedal boat to reach the chosen challenge (40 km, 60 km, 90 km, 150 km).
Trips are possible throughout the province of Quebec (and beyond!) at any time, but with a symbolic date of Saturday, August 28, 2021, when a gathering at Oka Park should have taken place.
To participate, it’s simple, just create your team or join one on the Parkinson Quebec website by clicking here.
As part of the donations will be given to regional organizations such as Parkinson Montreal-Laval, Parkinson Quebec invites participants to note the name of the region in their profile or team name.
In addition, you can follow the sporting success of the cyclists involved by joining the Défi Vélo Parkinson Québec club on the Strava application by clicking here.
Participants are invited to communicate to give the challenge, and therefore the cause, maximum visibility!
The PML team gets into the saddle!
With Janie, Elisabeth, Linda, Sophie, Annie and Alissa, the entire PML team is getting into the saddle. More motivated than ever, they are mobilized to collect essential donations for the PML community. The funds raised will allow PML to consolidate and develop a number of services and activities to provide people living with Parkinson’s and their loved ones with the advice and support they need.
So don’t hesitate and join the Pedallian community!
